MPOWER MBA Scholarship

MPOWER’s new scholarship is specifically designed for MBA students from both US in the US and Canada. MPOWER will offer the amount of up to 10,000 USD in order to aid international students. Students must be studying or pursuing an MBA through one of the affiliated schools; however, you don’t have to be an MPOWER borrower.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Accepted into or enrolled in a full-time MBA master’s degree at the US or Canadian school that MPOWER is a sponsor of and
• International students are permitted to legally pursue studies at a university in either Canada or the US or Canada, depending on the circumstances:
• To be able to study in the US means that the student meets one of the following criteria:
  • A valid visa allows studying within the USA. The US, or
  • Are you protected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
• To pursue studies in Canada means that applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Have an active Canadian study permit

US citizens wishing to learn at universities in America US and Canadian citizens seeking to study within Canada are not qualified to receive this scholarship.

Who can apply for this award?

• Accepted into or enrolled in an all-time MBA course at the US or Canadian school that MPOWER offers and
• Students from abroad are able to legally pursue studies within both the US and Canada, in the case applicable.
  • For studies at a university in the US. It is necessary that the student is a US Permanent resident (Green Card holders) or is protected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, or holds an active visa that allows studying at a university in the US.
  • To study in Canada means applicants are either Canadian permanent residents or hold valid Canadian student permits.
  • US citizens wishing to learn within America US and Canadian citizens who wish to pursue studies at universities in Canada are not qualified to receive this scholarship.
• It is not necessary to be an MPOWER borrower or applicant in order to apply for any scholarship offered by MPOWER, provided you satisfy the eligibility requirements as stated above.

What criteria will determine how the winners are chosen?

The winners will be chosen based only on the essay they submitted. MPOWER will choose winners on the basis of:

• The quality of the candidate’s essay. The essay should be clear in its thinking with compelling goals and vision and excellent communication abilities in English;
• The degree to which there exists an evident connection between the candidate’s chosen area of study and desires and goals;
• The potential of the applicant as an entrepreneur, scientist or leader can make a positive difference.

What happens when and how do the recipients get the money for the scholarship?

After MPOWER’s selection process, MPOWER will verify their eligibility. After verification, winners will receive an official Release Form. When MPOWER receives the signed Release Form from the winner, MPOWER will disburse the money directly to the winner’s institution of higher education in accordance with the provisions that are in place under any US or Canadian laws.

If the identity of a winner is not confirmed or is unable or unwilling to sign the Release Form, the person is ineligible to receive the scholarship, and MPOWER will choose a substitute winner.
