The University of Kentucky offers renewable academic and competitive scholarship opportunities for first-year students entering the university as first-time students. The completed admission application and all other supporting documents, such as the high school transcript, need to be received as early as possible.

However, to be considered for scholarships no later than the 1st of December, 2021. After admission, students will automatically be considered for scholarships to study at the university level. Scores from multiple tests (super-score) cannot be eligible. For all scholarships mentioned, students can only receive one award.

The University of Kentucky is committed to offering scholarships to eligible students regardless of whether they apply with or without scores from tests. The University of Kentucky is a nationally recognized leader in using extensive data analysis beyond tests to determine if students are eligible for scholarships, which includes taking into account a student’s weighted grade-point average (GPA) in high school. GPA. Any eligible student who applies before their Early Action deadline of the 1st of December, 2021, irrespective of whether they have scores from the ACT/SAT, are assessed to be eligible for scholarships in the academic field. To ensure that we have the best chance of consideration, we encourage applicants to apply as early as possible and by the 1st of December, 2021. Housing stipends of $10,000 per year are offered to students who reside on campus in the UK residence hall in the initial two years of their enrollment period only.

Kentucky Governor’s Scholar Presidential awards are made according to funding availability and the application deadline, and an early application is strongly recommended to be considered for scholarships. If accepted, the applicants who apply by the 1st of December 2021 will be evaluated and awarded based on information submitted during the application procedure. Be aware that applying before the early action deadline of the 1st of December does not guarantee acceptance of an award of a Presidential Scholarship. After acceptance, students who apply will be evaluated and awarded according to the availability of funds and the information provided during the application procedure.

Academic Scholarships

Students who satisfy the traditional or test minimal requirements may make an application and provide all documents supporting the application, including a high school transcript, when they can. However, not before the 1st of December, 2021. Students will be evaluated in the selection process for scholarship awards. After being accepted, students will automatically be eligible for scholarships in the academic field. The application process is not required.

Competitive Scholarships

Students must meet the traditional testing-related requirements for admission and apply for admission. Complete the section for competitive scholarships on the admission application, and submit all documents supporting the application, including a high school transcript, when they are able, but no after the 1st of December, 2021, to be eligible for their application to be reviewed for consideration in this highly competitive program. Only a limited number of scholarships are available. Candidates who have been selected will get invited on campus to interview. Be aware that these scholarships are highly competitive. It is estimated that the University of Kentucky received over 2200 scholarship applications from competitive applicants for the 2021-22 first-year class. They were awarded 50 Presidential scholarships and the 25 Otis A. Singletary scholarships.

Selective Scholarships

Students must have completed all the courses mentioned. Once accepted, eligible students will automatically be evaluated for consideration for the Kentucky Governor’s Scholar Provost Scholarship. Kentucky Governor’s Scholar Presidential awards are made dependent on the amount of money available and the submission date. Therefore, early application is highly recommended to ensure consideration for scholarships. Note that submitting an application by the early action deadline on the 1st of December, the deadline does not guarantee acceptance of an award of a Presidential Scholarship. After acceptance, applicants who apply by the 1st of December 2021 will be assessed and awarded based on the availability of funds and the information provided during the application procedure.

College and Department Scholarships

Several departments and colleges in the UK manage their scholarships. Students who have decided to pursue an academic degree are encouraged to inquire with their department or college about scholarships available. The requirements vary. Specific UK colleges are using Scholarship Universe to apply for departmental scholarships. However, applicants should check with their college for specific procedures for applying for scholarships and deadlines. The University of Kentucky Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships is pleased to announce the debut of ScholarshipUniverse!

ScholarshipUniverse (SU) can be described as an online platform for scholarships that connects students to appropriate, verified external scholarships and internal scholarships provided through the institution. Every scholarship that students see at SU has been subjected to extensive vetting to ensure that the scholarship is available from a reliable and genuine source.

SU is now open to students currently in-situ UK students and prospective students with an account with linkblue. Students can log in to create a student profile search and apply for external and internal scholarships. External scholarship opportunities can be found through other sources outside the Kentucky University of Kentucky.

Specific UK colleges are using ScholarshipUniverse for departmental scholarships. However, please consult the college you are attending regarding their specific scholarship requirements and deadlines. Contact information and webpages for the various UK colleges can be found at www.uky.edu/financialaid/college-departmental.

The institution’s awards are not made available. Instead, students are evaluated according to the date of their application. The criteria for admission and submitting applications according to the deadlines established must be met. Institutional aid programs are evaluated every year and are offered according to the available funds.
